Ulrike Stegemann and Lindsey Gray Earn All-ACC Volleyball Honors

Nov. 28, 2006

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech juniors Ulrike Stegemann and Lindsey Gray have been named to the All-ACC Volleyball Teams, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference Tuesday afternoon

Stegemann, a right side hitter, earned first-team All-ACC honors after hitting .311 with 2.83 kills per game in 2006. The junior from Schwerin, Germany also averaged 1.89 digs, 0.55 assists, 0.42 blocks and 0.18 service aces per game and earned three all-tournament nods during her third season on the Flats. She is a two-time all-conference honoree after being named second-team All-ACC a year ago, which followed ACC all-Freshman recognition in 2004.

Gray receives the first conference honor of her three-year career after being named second team All-ACC this season. The outside hitter from Lenexa, Kansas led the Yellow Jackets to a nine-match win streak down the stretch, and finished the season averaging 2.94 kills, 2.95 digs, 0.60 assists, 0.42 service aces and 0.33 blocks per game.

"We are proud of Ulli and Lindsey's accomplishments this season and happy that they have been recognized by their peers," said Georgia Tech head coach Bond Shymansky. "Their contribution to the team was significant in our turnaround during conference play, and we look forward to their continued leadership next season."

The Yellow Jackets finished 2006 with a 20-12 record, including a 12-10 mark in conference matches.
