Tech's Kellogg & Stegemann Earn All-ACC Volleyball Honors
Nov. 27, 2007
ATLANTA -
Junior captain Talisa Kellogg and senior rightside hitter Ulrike Stegemann have been named to the 2007 All-ACC Volleyball Team, as released by the Atlantic Coast Conference Tuesday afternoon.
"We are pleased with the acknowledgement for both Talisa and Ulli," head coach Bond Shymansky said. "Talisa has led us in kills in each of her three years here and will certainly be a big part of our continued success next season, while Ulli has contributed to Tech with some unbelievable performances during her career and will be missed by all of us."
Kellogg, a 6-1 outside hitter from Westerville, Ohio, earned first-team all-conference honors for the first time in her career after leading the Jackets in kills (499) and kills per game (3.96) in 2007. The junior finished her third season on the Flats ranked in the top-10 on Georgia Tech's career kills (1,396) and solo blocks (53) lists while her 3.88 career kills per game average stands third in school history.
Stegemann, an AVCA honorable mention All-American and first-team All-ACC honoree a year ago, was tabbed to the All-ACC second team in 2007 after guiding Tech to a 22-10 final record and third-place finish in the conference standings. The Schwerin, Germany, native hit .279 and averaged 3.18 kills and 1.98 digs per game this season and finished her career with 1,287 career kills, 622 digs and 234 total blocks.
The Jackets won 11 of their last 13 matches while ending the year with 16 conference wins for just the second time in school history.
