GREENSBORO, N.C. - Former Yellow Jacket standouts Kerry Annel, Carla Gartner, Rochelle Komula, Andrea Nachtrieb, Cris Omiecinski and Maja Pachale were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's 50th Anniversary Volleyball Team. The league office announced the 50-member squad Thursday as a part of its golden anniversary celebration.

Annel, who competed for the Jackets from 1992-95, was tabbed the ACC Player of the Year in 1995. She earned all-ACC honors three times in her career and was an integral part of Tech's ACC Tournament title in 1995. Annel currently holds school records for career hitting percentage (.348) and career total blocks (560).

Gartner, a four-time all-ACC selection, lettered for the Jackets from 1995-1998. A first-team all-ACC selection in 1998, she ranks third at Tech in career blocks (496), sixth in career hitting percentage (.289) and sixth in career kills (1,455).

Komula, who earned first-team all-district honors in 1996 and 1997, played for Tech from 1994-1997. A first-team all-ACC selection in 1996 and 1997, she helped the Yellow Jackets to three NCAA appearances and holds the school record for block assists in a game. She is still the only Yellow Jacket to record a triple-double.

Nachtrieb, who lettered as a setter from 1993-96, is the ACC's all-time leader in assists (6,102). She led the Yellow Jackets to four consecutive post-season appearances and was named the ACC Tournament MVP in 1995.

Omiecinski, Tech's first four-time all-ACC selection, lettered as an outside hitter on the Flats from 1992-95, helping Tech to the ACC title in 1995 and NCAA appearances in 1994 and 1995. She finished as the school's career kill leader (1,749) and in fourth place on the career dig list (1,330). She still holds the school record for attack percentage in a match.

Pachale, who competed for Tech as an outside hitter from 1998-2001, is the only Yellow Jacket to be named a first team all-ACC selection three times. The 2001 ACC Player of the Year, Pachale led the Jackets to NCAA appearances in 2000 and 2001 and finished as Tech's career kill leader with 1,836 which ranks fifth in ACC history.

Fiftieth Anniversary Teams will be selected in all of the conference's sports and a Top 50 overall men's and women's list will be chosen by a Blue Ribbon Committee of media, coaches, administrators and veteran observers of the Conference.
