Talisa Kellogg and Chrissy DeMichelis combined for 27 of Tech's 45 kills in the match

ATLANTA - Talisa Kellogg pounded out 15 kills, nine of which keyed a Yellow Jacket comeback in the second set, and Chrissy DeMichelis hit .308 while adding 12 kills to lead Georgia Tech (12-5, 4-3 ACC) to a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 26-24, 25-20) of Wake Forest (13-6, 4-3 ACC) Saturday night at O'Keefe Gym.

Wake used an 11-1 run to take an 18-12 lead in the second set and looked to be well on its way to tying the match at 1-1, but the Jackets mounted a comeback late in the frame to win, 26-24. With the Demon Deacons ahead, 23-18, Tech scored six-straight points, three of which came off kills by Kellogg, to take a 24-13 lead. The Jackets then finished off the set with another kill by Kellogg to take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Tech senior had nine kills total in the second set, including four during Tech's 8-1 run to end the frame.

DeMichelis notched four digs and three block assists in addition to her 12 kills against the Deacs, while middle hitter Callie Miller tallied nine kills, five digs and two blocks on the night. Freshman Asia Stawicka led all players with six block assists, while Brittany Roderick tallied four blocks in the 3-0 sweep.

The Jackets' net defense came up big in the first set, as Tech posted 5.5 blocks and held the Demon Deacons to a .064 hitting clip to win, 25-19. DeMichelis tallied four kills to lead Tech's offense, and Michelle Kandell continued her stellar back row play, recording nine digs in the opening frame.

Tech closed out the match by hitting .355 in the third and final set. The offense was run by Allie Niekamp, who finished the night with 39 assists, six digs, two kills and a pair of block assists.

Georgia Tech will hit the road the next two weekends before returning to Atlanta to host Virginia Tech and Virginia on Halloween weekend. The Jackets will face Maryland in College Park at 7 p.m. next Friday before traveling to Chestnut Hill, Mass. to meet Boston College Sunday at 1 p.m.
