COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Despite 21 kills by sophomore Talisa Kellogg, Georgia Tech (8-7, 0-5 ACC) was unable to stop a Maryland (8-7, 1-4 ACC) comeback, falling in five games, 2-3 (30-16, 23-30, 30-22, 26-30, 13-15), Friday night at the Comcast Pavilion on the campus of the University of Maryland.

After falling behind 1-2 in the match, the Terrapins won the fourth and fifth games, 30-26 and 15-13, to win their first conference match of the season.

Tech had a pair of players to record double-doubles on the night, as junior Lindsey Gray finished with 10 kills and 14 digs and sophomore setter Allie Niekamp recorded a game-high 52 assists to go along with 13 digs.

Rookie Erin Birmingham led the Tech blockers with seven total blocks on the night, while senior libero Abby Showers added a game-high 16 digs for the Yellow Jackets. Rounding out the Jackets in double figures was sophomore Michelle Kandell, who had 11 digs against the Terps.

Junior Nikki Kaminskas hit a team-high .400 on the night, as the Jackets hit .216 as a team.

The Terrapins were led by Jade Brown, who recorded 23 kills while hitting .347 in the match. Katie Usher paced the Maryland defense with 13 block assists, as the Terps recorded 16 total blocks on the night, as compared to the Jackets' eight.
