BEIJING - Behind the bats of redshirt junior Jen Yee and former Tech stand-out Caitlin Lever, the Canadian Softball Team (3-4) advanced to the medal round at the Olympics for the first time in its history.

Fourth-place Canada will face third-place Australia (5-2) on Tuesday night at midnight (ET) in the medal round. First-place United States (7-0) will meet second-place Japan (6-1) at 9:30pm EDT Tuesday night, with the winner advancing directly to Thursday's final, while the losing team will meet the winner of the three versus four game in the Bronze medal game (5:00am EDT Wednesday). All of those games can be seen live online at NBCOlympics.com.

In Canada's seven pool play games, Yee batted a team-high .368. She was 7-for-19 with three runs scored, a double, home run, five RBI and a stolen base. Lever, meanwhile, hit .316 (6-for-19) with two runs scored, a RBI and a stolen base. No other Canadian batter hit over .250 in pool play.
