Tech Picked Fifth at ACC Women's Basketball Media Day

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech's women's basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference this year, as determined by a vote of the media at the ACC Women's Basketball Media Day in addition to the votes of the league's sports information directors and head coaches at Greensboro, N.C.

Maryland was picked to win the conference and received 27 first-place votes. The Terrapins were followed by North Carolina, who received 10 first-place votes, Duke, Floride State and then Tech.

The Yellow Jackets return four starters and eight letterwinners to a squad that reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. Tech is preparing for an exhibition game Nov. 4 against Premier Players. The regular-season opener will be Nov. 9 against Davidson as part of men's and women's double-header.
