The Jackets finished the regular season 9-5 in conference play

ATLANTA - Stephanie Higgs was named to the 2007 third-team All-ACC Women's Basketball team Monday while Janie Mitchell earned an All-ACC honorable mention. The vote is from a panel of 55 media members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA).

Higgs, a five-foot-nine guard from Lawrenceville, Ga., became the 20th player in Georgia Tech history to score 1,000 points for her career with 19 points in a Dec. 29, 2006 win over Alcorn State. The senior is leading the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game and has scored in double figures 22 times this season and recorded 10 20-point scoring outings.

Higgs earned a spot on last season's 2006 second team All-ACC Tournament and a 2005 All-ACC honorable mention. She was the ACC player of the week on Feb. 5 for her game-high 26-point effort in Tech's 77-72 win over Maryland.

Mitchell, a six-foot junior forward from Jackson, Miss, leads the team in rebounds with 6.7 rebounds per game and is second on the team in scoring with 14.2 PPG. She notched her third double-double of the season in Thursday's ACC finale with Virginia, grabbing 12 rebounds and scoring 17 points in the win. This is the first All-ACC recognition for Mitchell.

Higgs' and Mitchell's 2007 All-ACC accolades are the first for Tech since Higgs earned an All-ACC honorable mention in 2005, her sophomore season.
