Jillian Blanchard, the Georgia Tech women's basketball administrative assistant the past year, has been named director of operations for the Yellow Jackets women's basketball program.

"I am excited to name Jillian our new director of basketball operations," Joseph said. "Her work ethic and loyalty to our players and staff this past year made it an easy decision. I know that Jillian will help us take Georgia Tech women's basketball to the next level and I look forward to seeing how her contributions will assist the growth and development of our program."

Her responsibilities include coordinating team travel, assist coaches with recruiting, organize community service projects, order team equipment, organize special events and coordinate the MaChelle Joseph summer camps and clinics.

"I am extremely excited to continue working with Coach Joseph and this group of talented student-athletes," Blanchard said. "This is a great opportunity and I look forward to helping the program achieve all of our goals and reach the next level of success."

Blanchard began her career at Georgia Tech as the team's administrative assistant in 2007 before being promoted to her current position.

Before coming to Tech, Blanchard served as a sales representative for Liberty Mutual Insurance in Providence, R.I., where she was in charge of developing and presenting marketing presentations to current and future group accounts. Blanchard was a four-time recipient of Liberty Mutual's Pacesetter award and a recipient of Liberty Mutual's Pursuit of Excellence award.

Blanchard graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in marketing and management from Siena College (N.Y.) in 2006. While at Siena, Blanchard was a four-year letterwinner for the women's golf team, helping the Saints to four consecutive MAAC Championships. She garnered MAAC All-Academic Team honors four times and was a two-time National Golf Coaches Association Division I All-Scholastic Team member.
