Angelo Taylor Wins Second Gold Medal In Beijing

Aug. 23, 2008

BEIJING - For the second time in the last three Olympic Games, former Georgia Tech track and field stand-out Angelo Taylor will take home more than one gold medal. Taylor ran the second leg of the Olympic-record setting 4x400m relay team which captured gold Saturday at Beijing National Stadium.

Taylor, who also captured gold in the 400-meter hurdles on Monday, teamed with LaShawn Merritt, David Neville and Jeremy Wariner to run a record-setting 2:55.39 run in the winning effort. Taylor joins Merritt as the only two U.S. track & field members to win more than one gold at the Beijing Olympics.

The American men won the long relay at the Olympics for the 18th time out of the 22 they've been entered in.

Today's race will be shown via tape delay on NBC at 7:30 p.m. ET tonight.
