AT TECH: Backup quarterback in 2006 behind Reggie Ball and Taylor Bennett . . . Saw his only action at quarterback in the Jackets' win over Samford, when he was 2-for-2 for eight yards . . . Served as the holder on field goals and extra points in 2005, playing in every game, but did not any snaps at quarterback . . . Took a redshirt year in 2004 while quarterbacking the scout team.

High School: Tabbed to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Top 50 in Georgia . . . First-team all-state selection in Class AA by the AJC . . . Ranked among the state's Top 100 prospects by TheInsiders.com . . . All-Southeast region selection by Prep Star . . . Led Buford High to its third consecutive state title in 2003, including its 45th straight victory in the Class AA championship game, in which Buford defeated Charlton County, 31-3 . . . In a run-dominated offense, he passed for 1,312 yards and 11 touchdowns with just two interceptions as a senior . . . Also quarterbacked Buford to a 15-0 record and a state title as a junior, when he threw for 1,214 yards and 14 touchdowns . . . Coached by Dexter Wood.
