Also led the team with eight tackles for loss . . . Added two sacks, two interceptions, three pass breakups, eight pressures, one fumble recovery and one blocked field goal.

Collected 17 tackles, including two tackles for loss, against Notre Dame . . . Returned an interception 25 yards to the one-yard line against Wake Forest and helped Tech hold the Deacons to just 55 yards rushing . . . Tied his career high with 20 tackles against Clemson . . . 1996: Tech’s top defensive player and the second-leading tackler in the ACC . . . Averaged 13.4 tackles per game . . . Also totalled four tackles for loss, three sacks, six pass breakups, six quarterback pressures, two fumble recoveries, an interception and a caused fumble . . . Blocked field goals against North Carolina and Clemson . . . Played every snap in every game except lopsided games against Wake Forest, Duke and Florida State, with a high of 86 plays against Central Florida.

Equalled his career best with 20 tackles against Clemson, including 13 solo tackles . . . Made nine tackles with one tackle for loss and one sack against Wake Forest despite playing only the first half (39 snaps) in Tech’s 30-10 win in which the Deacons were held to just 22 yards rushing . . . Keyed an outstanding defensive effort in Tech’s 13-7 win over 12th-ranked Virginia . . . Made 15 tackles against the Cavaliers, with a sack, a pass deflection and a caused fumble . . . Recorded 11 tackles against Maryland, when he also recovered a fumble, intercepted a pass on the Tech eight-yard line and broke up another pass . . . Had 14 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack for an 11-yard loss, a pass breakup and a quarterback pressure against Georgia . . . Added 18 tackles against North Carolina and 15 against Navy.

1995: The leading tackler in the ACC, averaging 13.3 hits per game . . . Also contributed three fumble recoveries, four tackles for loss, five pressures and three pass breakups . . . Achieved double-figure tackles in the final nine games of the season . . . Made a career-high 20 tackles against Clemson, including 13 primary hits . . . Equalled that with 20 tackles against Georgia . . . Outstanding effort in Tech’s win over 17th-ranked Maryland with a game-high 13 tackles, one for a 10-yard loss, plus one pressure, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery as Tech held the Terps to a school record -30 yards rushing . . . Made 11 tackles against Duke plus a crucial fumble recovery on the Tech 33-yard line.

Contributed a key play to help preserve the 27-25 win over North Carolina when he deflected a pass into the arms of teammate Ron Rogers for a game-saving interception on the Tar Heels’ final drive . . . Also made 11 tackles against UNC . . . Collected 13 tackles against top-ranked Florida State and 15 against No. 16 Virginia . . . Notched 15 tackles, one TFL, three pressures and a pass breakup in win over Wake Forest . . . Missed all of spring practice with a knee injury . . . Sprained his right knee on the first day of spring drills but did not require surgery.

1994: Made an immediate impact in preseason camp as he earned a backup role at outside linebacker behind Don Hickson on the weak side . . . Totalled 43 tackles, including four for losses, along with one pressure, one pass breakup, one caused fumble and one fumble recovery . . . Displayed steady improvement throughout the season . . . Earned his first start against Western Carolina when Hickson was injured and made five tackles . . . Also started the final two games when Hickson’s season was ended by an injury . . . Recorded a season-high 10 tackles against Wake Forest, including two tackles for loss . . . Made two tackles, one of them behind the line of scrimmage, and caused and recovered a fumble against Maryland . . . Had three hits with one tackle for loss and a pass deflection against Florida State . . . One of four true freshmen to see action on Tech’s defense.
