In The Majors

  • Brandon Boggs pinch-ran.

  • LF Marlon Byrd (.298) was 2-for-4 with a sacrifice fly.

  • PH/SS Nomar Garciaparra (.240) went 0-for-1.

  • David Newhan (.232) delivered a pinch-hit single.

  • 2B Eric Patterson (.171) was 1-for-4.

  • CF Jay Payton (.257) went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a walk and a strikeout.

  • 1B Mark Teixeira (.368) was 0-for-4.


    In The Minors

  • CF Charlie Blackmon (.333) extended his hitting streak to 14 games by going 1-for-4 including a bunt single.

  • C Wally Crancer (.289) was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, an RBI single and a double.

  • LHP David Duncan was not involved in the decision while making his first start in 12 days as Brooklyn edged Tri-City 5-4 in 11 innings. His line: 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO.

  • 1B Jeff Kindel (.291) went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a walk. Kindel grounded out twice and walked in his three at-bats against Blake Wood.

  • LF Matt Murton (.280) was 2-for-4 with an RBI double, a triple and two strikeouts.

  • DH Danny Payne (.188) returned to the lineup and went 0-for-3. Payne is now hitless in his last 23 at-bats.
     

     

  • RF Jason Perry (.244) was 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

  • DH Whit Robbins (.266) went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

  • RF Jeremy Slayden (.290) went 1-for-4 with an RBI double, an HBP and a strikeout.

  • RHP Blake Wood worked six shutout innings to get the win as Northwest Arkansas trounced Tulsa 14-1. His line: (W,5-7) 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO, 1 WP, 1 HBP.
