PH/LF Chase Burnette went 0-for-2 with a strikeout coming off the bench for the East in Cal Ripken Sr. League All-Star Game at Bethesda, Md.
DH Derek Dietrich was 2-for-4 with a strikeout as Team USA outlasted Canada 4-3 in an 11-inning affair in the 2008 FISU World Championships at Brno, Czech Republic.
CF Chris House (.263) went 0-for-3 with a sacrifice.
C Cole Leonida (.217) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, an RBI single, a walk and a strikeout.
Patrick Long went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout as starting 3B for the East in Cal Ripken Sr. League All-Star Game.
2B Thomas Nichols (.198) was 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
Winning pitcher Deck McGuire was named the Rawlings Defensive Player of the Game by retiring all six batters he faced in relief as the National team beat the American team 5-3 at the Coastal Plain League All-Star Game in Asheboro, N.C. His line: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO.
Jeff Rowland went 0-for-2 as starting center fielder for the East in Cal Ripken Sr. League All-Star Game.
