In The Majors

  • LF Brandon Boggs (.251) went 0-for-3.

  • CF Marlon Byrd (.246) was 1-for-4 with a double.

  • SS Nomar Garciaparra (.277) went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and two solo home runs.

  • Matt Murton (.077) struck out as a pinch-hitter.

  • 1B Mark Teixeira (.272) went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.

  • C Jason Varitek (.215) was 0-for-3 with a strikeout.


    In The Minors

  • DH Charlie Blackmon extended his hitting streak to 10 games while going 1-for-4 with an infield single and a walk. Blackmon is 19-for-46 (.413) during his streak.

  • RHP Kevin Cameron worked a 1-2-3 inning in relief while continuing his rehab assignment with Class AAA Portland.

  • LF Wally Crancer (.289) went 0-for-4.

  • SS Michael Fisher (.263) was 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

  • SS Tyler Greene (.246) extended his hitting streak to 10 games by going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout. Greene has homered five times during his streak.

  • RF Garrett Groce (.268) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

  • 1B Jeff Kindel (.292) was 0-for-4 with a strikeout.

  • C Mike Nickeas (.200) went 0-for-5 with a walk and a strikeout.
     

     

  • 2B Eric Patterson (.333) was 2-for-5 with a double and three strikeouts. Patterson has hit safely in all six games that he has played since joining Class AAA Sacramento.

  • DH Jason Perry (.303) returned to the Richmond lineup and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.

  • RHP Brad Rulon faced seven batters while picking up the win in relief as Staten Island scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to beat Batavia 3-2. His line: (W,2-0) 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO.

  • C Matt Wieters extended his hitting streak to 17 games by going 1-for-4 with an RBI single and a strikeout.
