ATHENS, Ga. - Adam Swann went 5-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBI to lead top-seeded Georgia (42-19) to a 13-5 win over No. 2 seed Georgia Tech (41-20) on day two of the NCAA Athens Regional on Saturday afternoon at Foley Field.

The Bulldogs advance in the regional and will face the loser of Saturday afternoon's Georgia Southern-Coastal Carolina game on Saturday at 7 p.m. The Yellow Jackets are eliminated and conclude their season.

Georgia starter Rob Moravek (3-4) picked up the victory, allowing five runs on 10 hits in 6.2 innings. Jody Friedman held the Yellow Jackets scoreless over the final 2.1 innings to earn his second save of the season.

Tech starter Steve Kelly (7-5) took the loss after allowing eight runs in 5.2 innings.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on a solo home run from Andy Neufeld, his ninth of the year. Georgia made the score 2-0 in the fourth when Swann led off with a single, took second on Kris Edge's sacrifice bunt, and scored on Blake Bodenmiller's two-out RBI single.

Tech finally scored in the top of the fifth, cutting the lead to 2-1. Brad Stockton led off the inning with a walk and took second on Wes Rynders' sac bunt. After advancing to third on Matthew Boggs' groundout, Stockton scored on Richard Lewis' two-out RBI single to left field.

Georgia answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth to push the lead back to two runs at 3-1. Andy Neufeld led off with a single, took second on David Coffee's sac bunt, and scored on Swann's two-out RBI single to center field.

Tech pulled to 3-2 in the top of the sixth when Jason Basil and Bryan Prince both singled before Basil took third on a wild pitch and then scored on a passed ball.

The Bulldogs again answered by putting five runs on the board, all coming after two outs and nobody on base, to take an 8-2 lead. After retiring the first two batters of the inning, Neufeld drew a four-pitch walk to start the rally. Coffee followed with a single to right field, and Neufeld came around to score on Jeff Keppinger's infield single. After Doc Brooks walked on what appeared to be strike three to load the bases, Swann blasted a 1-2 pitch over the left field wall for a grand slam and his sixth home run of the season.

Georgia immediately put five more runs on the board in the bottom of the seventh, again all after two outs, to push the lead to eight runs at 13-5. Tony Burchett drove in two runs with a double down the right field line before Doc Brooks blasted a three-run homer, his team-leading 16th of the year.

Swann led the Bulldogs with five hits, while Neufeld went 4-for-5 and scored four runs. Boggs, Lewis, Teixeira and Basil each had two hits in a losing effort for the Yellow Jackets.
