CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Brandon Guyer drove in three runs to lead Virginia (28-13, 8-10 ACC) to its second straight win over No. 4 Georgia Tech (30-9, 16-4), a 9-2 decision on Saturday night at Davenport Field.

The Cavaliers' win clinched the weekend series, snapping the Yellow Jackets' streak of 13 straight ACC series wins. Georgia Tech had won 32 of 34 regular season ACC games before dropping the first two games of this series.

Virginia starter Mike Ballard (6-3) earned the win, working five innings and holding Tech to two runs on five hits. He issued three walks and struck out four.

Reliever Sean Doolittle earned his first save of the year by working four scoreless innings to close out the game. He struck out eight of the 13 batters he faced.

Tim Henry led the Cavs with three hits in five at bats, and Mike Campagna and Ryan Zimmerman had two hits each.

Jeremy Slayden and Mike Trapani each had two hits for the Yellow Jackets.

Virginia jumped to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a two-run single from Guyer and a RBI single from Josh Darby. The Cavaliers added five runs on just two hits in the second inning to extend the lead to 8-0. Tech pitchers issued fours walks, hit a batter, threw a wild pitch and the defense committed an error, while Campagna had the only RBI hit of the inning.

A two-run single from Tech's Tyler Greene made the score 8-2 in the third inning.

Campagna was hit by a pitch with two outs in the fifth inning and scored on Kyle Werman's RBI triple to extend the lead to 9-2.

Tech starter Jason Neighborgall (5-3) took the loss, allowing eight runs in 1.1 innings. Reliever Jordan Crews worked a career-long 5.2 innings and allowed one run.
