First saw action on the mound during fall practice prior to the 2002 season, and impressed the coaching staff ... After starting the 2002 season in the Tech bullpen, he finished the year as Tech’s No. 2 starter in the ACC Tournament, NCAA Regionals and College World Series ... Sat out Tech’s annual fall practice to rest his arm prior to the 2003 season, but he has been one of the staff’s most impressive pitchers in individual winter workouts ...
